Your QuickBooks historyin Salesforce from day one

Import your QuickBooks customers and link them to Salesforce Accounts, then bring in past invoices for any date range. Tally shows you what's missing before it imports anything, and never creates the same invoice twice.

Sync Customers, then Historical Invoice Import, in the Tally Hub. Fictional data.

What you're seeing

  1. On the Sync Customers page in the Tally Hub, Start import pulls 48 QuickBooks customers into Salesforce.
  2. Customers whose names match an Account are linked to it, and the rest show + Link account.
  3. On the Historical Invoice Import page, Analyze Import checks invoices from Jan 1, 2025 to Dec 31, 2025: 64 found, 58 ready to import and 2 issues.
  4. Create Accounts makes Accounts for the two customers that need one, Kestrel Outfitters LLC and Pinecrest Clinics, and all 64 invoices are ready.
  5. Start Import starts bringing the past invoices into Salesforce.

Customers firsteach linked to the right Account

Sync Customers brings in your QuickBooks customers and links each one to a Salesforce Account, so invoices you create from that Account go to the right customer.

Matched by name

The company name, or the display name when there's no company, is matched to your Account names.

Create Accounts, or only link

Switch on Create Salesforce Accounts for new customers to create the ones that don't match. Leave it off to only link.

Change any link

Click the Salesforce Account cell on a customer to link it or pick a different Account.

Sub-customers stay together

With the link-only setting, a QuickBooks sub-customer follows its parent customer's Account.

You choose what updates

Sync settings pick which fields change in Salesforce when a customer changes in QuickBooks: names, email, phones, addresses, notes and more.

Then it keeps up

Customers created, changed or made inactive in QuickBooks later reach Salesforce on their own.

Then past invoiceschecked before they're imported

Historical Invoice Import is for the first setup, for backfilling, and for invoices that didn't sync on their own. It looks first and imports second.

  1. 1

Pick a date range and analyze

Tally reads the invoices in that range from QuickBooks and imports nothing yet.

  2. 2

    See what's missing

Total Found, Ready to Import and Issues Found, with the customers that aren't in Salesforce or have no Account, and the products that aren't in Salesforce.

  3. 3

    Fix it or skip it

Create Accounts for the customers that need one, or skip invoices with missing customers or customers without an Account.

  4. 4

    Start the import

It runs in the background. Existing invoices are updated, not duplicated, and payments recorded in QuickBooks come with them.

  5. 5

    Check the logQBObyTALLY__Log__c

Every action is written to the QBO Logs, and it's safe to run again.

Questionsabout data migration

How do QuickBooks customers get into Salesforce?
Sync Customers in the Tally Hub imports your active QuickBooks customers. Each one becomes a QBO Customer record in Salesforce, with its contact details and addresses, linked to a Salesforce Account.
How is each customer matched to an Account?
By name: the customer's company name, or its display name when there's no company name, against your Account names. Turn on Create Salesforce Accounts for new customers to create an Account when nothing matches, or leave it off and link those customers by hand from the Account column.
Will I lose my invoice history?
No. Historical Invoice Import brings past QuickBooks invoices into Salesforce for any date range, with their amounts, dates and line items, and the payments recorded against them in QuickBooks.
Will it create duplicates?
No. It checks whether each invoice already exists in Salesforce and updates it with the latest QuickBooks data instead of creating a second one, so it's safe to run again.
What if a customer or product is missing?
The analysis shows it before anything is imported. Create Accounts for customers that need one with a click, or choose to skip those invoices. Product lines need the product in Salesforce first, so import products with Sync Products before you start.
How long does a big import take?
The import runs in the background, and you can close the page. Salesforce limits how much one run can process, so a long history can take more than one run. Every step is written to the QBO Logs.
Do I have to do the migration myself?
You can run it from the Tally Hub. Or our team does it: the Data Migration add-on is a one-time service that imports your QuickBooks customers as Salesforce accounts and contacts and maps them for invoicing.
