A QuickBooks class on every linechosen in Salesforce

Sync your QuickBooks classes into Salesforce, then pick one on each line of an invoice, estimate, sales receipt or purchase order. The class goes to QuickBooks with the line, so profit and loss by class is right from the start.

What you're seeing

  1. The Sync Classes page in the Tally Hub has no classes synced yet.
  2. Sync classes pulls six QuickBooks classes into Salesforce, such as Operations:Field Services and Software:Subscriptions.
  3. On the opportunity's Quickbooks tab, the invoice builder has a Class column on each line.
  4. The rep picks Software:Subscriptions for the dispatch seats and Software:Onboarding for route planning.
  5. Save creates invoice 1043 in QuickBooks Online with a class on each line.

Your classes, as QuickBooks has themparents and all

Classes stay managed in QuickBooks. Tally copies them into Salesforce with their full names, so a sub-class reads the way it does in your books, like Software:Subscriptions.

One button to start

Sync classes on the Tally Hub's Sync Classes page pulls every class, its fully qualified name and its parent.

Changes arrive on their own

Classes added or renamed in QuickBooks reach Salesforce without another sync.

Stored as records

Each class is a QBO Class record in Salesforce, so you can report on it and use it in Flows.

A class per line

Invoices, estimates and sales receipts have a Class column next to Amount and Tax.

Purchase orders too

Category and item lines on a purchase order each take a class, alongside the customer.

Sent with the line

Each line goes to QuickBooks Online with its class, and the read-only views in Salesforce show it.

Reps pick the class on the line. If your classes follow a rule, a Salesforce Flow can fill them in before the invoice or estimate is sent.

Does Tally support QuickBooks class tracking?
Yes. Your QuickBooks classes are synced into Salesforce, and invoices, estimates, sales receipts and purchase orders built in Salesforce carry a class on each line to QuickBooks Online.
Where do the classes come from?
From QuickBooks. Press Sync classes on the Sync Classes page of the Tally Hub to bring them all in, with their parent classes. After that, classes added or changed in QuickBooks reach Salesforce on their own.
Can I create a class in Salesforce?
Classes are managed in QuickBooks, which stays the source of truth. Create the class in QuickBooks and it appears in Salesforce, ready to pick.
Is the class per transaction or per line?
Per line. Every line on an invoice, estimate or sales receipt, and every category and item line on a purchase order, has its own Class, so one document can split across classes.
Can class tracking be automated?
Yes. Invoice and estimate lines in Salesforce have a QBO Class field, so a Flow can set it, for example from the product or the opportunity's region. The Create Invoice on QBO using SF Invoice record and Create Estimate on QBO using SF Estimate record actions send each line's class to QuickBooks.
Which plan includes class tracking?
QuickBooks class tracking is part of Tally Growth and Tally Scale. On plans without it, the Class column doesn't appear.
