# Recurring Invoicing in Tally for QuickBooks

## What it does

- Create Recurring Invoice opens the invoice builder in Recurring mode: name the template, pick the QuickBooks customer and add the lines.
- Schedules: every so many days; weekly on a weekday; monthly on a day of the month (1st to 28th, or the last day) or on the first, second, third, fourth or last of a weekday; or yearly on a month and day.
- Ends never, on a date, or after a number of invoices; the template counts how many it has created.
- Each invoice is saved to QuickBooks or saved and sent, and is due the template's terms after the day it's created.
- Process payments automatically charges a saved card or bank account through QuickBooks Payments when each invoice is created.
- A daily job just after midnight creates the day's invoices from their templates.
- Templates sit in the record's invoice list with their schedule, previous and next send dates and past occurrences.

## Sync

- Salesforce to QuickBooks: each scheduled invoice is created in QuickBooks Online as a normal invoice, linked to its template in Salesforce.

## Questions

### Which schedules can I set?

Every so many days; every so many weeks on a weekday; every so many months on a day of the month (1st to 28th, or the last day) or on the first, second, third, fourth or last of a weekday; or once a year on a month and day.

### When are the invoices created?

A scheduled job runs once a day, just after midnight. It creates the invoices whose next send date is that day, sends them to QuickBooks Online and moves each template's next date forward.

### How does a schedule end?

Never, on an end date, or after a number of invoices. The template keeps count of how many it has created.

### Can each invoice be charged automatically?

Yes. Turn on Process payments automatically and choose one of the customer's saved cards or bank accounts, or add one. Each invoice is charged through QuickBooks Payments when it's created in QuickBooks.

### What happens when the customer's card changes?

When a new card is saved for the customer, recurring templates that used their old card switch to the new one.

### Does it work for donations and memberships?

Yes. Anything billed the same way on a schedule works: subscriptions, retainers, memberships and recurring donations.
