# Invoicing in Tally for QuickBooks

> Create QuickBooks Online invoices from any Salesforce record: opportunities, accounts, orders or your own custom objects. The invoice is built on the record, created in QuickBooks when you save, and kept up to date in Salesforce as it's paid or voided.

## What it does

- The invoice component goes on any Lightning record page. The admin names the record's account lookup field, which is how the invoice finds the QuickBooks customer; opportunities and accounts are the usual places.
- Create Invoice on the record: choose the QuickBooks customer linked to the account (or link or create one), then fill in the invoice.
- Lines from your products and services; on opportunities, Fetch Products from Opportunity Line Items; on any object, an admin can add up to two buttons that build the lines with your own Flows.
- Terms (Due on Receipt, Net 7, 15, 30, 45 or 60) with the due date worked out, billing and shipping addresses, Bill to CC, a percentage discount before or after tax, a QuickBooks sales tax rate and shipping.
- Online payment switches for cards and bank transfer per invoice; above your credit card limit only bank transfer is offered.
- Attachments, chosen file by file for the email, and your own invoice numbers when custom transaction numbers are on in QuickBooks.
- Save creates the invoice in QuickBooks without emailing; Save and Send also has QuickBooks email it to the customer.
- From the record: Send reminder, Generate PDF, Edit, Void and Receive Payment; filters for All, Due Today, Due this month, Overdue, Paid and Voided; the total due; a link to the invoice in QuickBooks.
- Separate permission sets for Save and for Save and Send.

## Sync

- Salesforce to QuickBooks: invoices are created, edited, voided and sent from Salesforce when the user saves.
- QuickBooks to Salesforce: QuickBooks change notifications (webhooks) bring invoice changes, voids and payments back, and the invoice's balance and status follow (Open, Partially Paid, Paid or Void).

## Salesforce Flow actions

- Create Invoice on QBO - Easy Setup
- Create Invoice on QBO using SF Invoice record
- Record Payment on Existing QBO Invoice

## Questions

### Which Salesforce records can I invoice from?

Any record that leads to an account: opportunities, accounts, orders, work orders or your own custom objects. The admin places the invoice component on that object's record page and tells it which field holds the account.

### What's the difference between Save and Save and Send?

Save creates the invoice in QuickBooks Online without emailing anyone. Save and Send creates it and emails it to the customer, copying the Bill to CC addresses.

### Where do the invoice lines come from?

Search your products and services and add them one by one, or use Fetch Products from Opportunity Line Items. An admin can also add up to two buttons under the line table that run your own Salesforce Flows to build the lines, for example from a custom object.

### Can I change or cancel an invoice after it's created?

Yes. Edit it from the invoice on the record and the changes go to QuickBooks. Void voids it in QuickBooks and Salesforce. A voided invoice can't be edited.

### Do payments made in QuickBooks show up in Salesforce?

Yes. QuickBooks tells Salesforce when a payment is added, changed or deleted, and the invoice's balance and status follow: Open, Partially Paid or Paid.

### Who can create and send invoices?

Permission sets decide it. One gives access to Save, another to Save and Send, so some people can create invoices without emailing them to customers.
