## The basics

### What does Tally do?

Tally for QuickBooks is a QuickBooks Online and Salesforce integration, installed in Salesforce from the AppExchange. It lets your team create invoices, estimates, sales receipts and purchase orders, run recurring billing, and process credit card and ACH payments from any Salesforce record, with customers, products and payments synced between the two systems.

### Where does Tally show up in Salesforce?

On any record page you choose. The Tally component goes on an object's Lightning record page (opportunities and accounts most often, or any object with a lookup to the account, including your own) and shows that record's sales receipts, estimates, invoices and purchase orders, with buttons to create new ones. Settings and sync live in the Tally Hub tab.

### Can we create QuickBooks documents from a Flow?

Yes. The package adds Flow actions: Create Invoice on QBO - Easy Setup, Create Invoice on QBO using SF Invoice record, Create Sales Receipt on QBO - Easy Setup, Create Estimate on QBO using SF Estimate record, Create Purchase Orders by Vendor, Record Payment on Existing QBO Invoice, Create Customer on QuickBooks and Update Customer on QuickBooks.

## Requirements

### What Salesforce editions does Tally work on?

Tally works on Salesforce Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited editions.

### What editions of QuickBooks does Tally work on?

Because Salesforce is a cloud solution, Tally requires the Online (Cloud) edition of QuickBooks. If you're using QuickBooks Desktop but would like to learn more, contact our team.

### Do our customers need Salesforce or a Tally account?

No. Save and Send creates the invoice in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks emails it to the customer, the same as an invoice sent from QuickBooks. Reminders go out the same way.

## Sync

### Do I need to re-enter data in both systems?

No. Tally keeps QuickBooks and Salesforce in sync, so invoices, payments, and balances stay consistent across both — without manual double entry.

### What comes back from QuickBooks to Salesforce?

Tally listens for QuickBooks change notifications. New and changed customers, invoices (including voids), estimate updates and sales receipts (including voids) are written back to Salesforce. Products and services come back when product sync from QuickBooks is turned on, payments when payment processing is on, and class changes when class tracking is on.

### Can we bring in invoices from before we installed Tally?

Yes. Historical Invoice Import brings past QuickBooks invoices into Salesforce for a date range you choose. It checks your data first and shows what's missing, never creates duplicates (invoices already in Salesforce are updated with the latest QuickBooks data), runs in the background, and logs every action in QBO Logs. Products on the lines need to exist in Salesforce first.

### How are products matched between the two systems?

Product Mapping lines up QuickBooks items and Salesforce products side by side. Suggested matches can be accepted, anything can be linked or unlinked by hand, and a QuickBooks item with no Salesforce product can be created in Salesforce from its row (Create in SF), then saved with the rest.

## Payments

Payment processing and recurring invoicing are part of Tally Scale.

### What payment methods can customers use?

Customers can pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) or ACH bank transfer, processed through QuickBooks Payments and surfaced inside Salesforce.

### Can customers pay the invoice online?

Yes. Each invoice has Online Payments switches for cards and bank transfer. With them on, the customer can pay the QuickBooks invoice by card or ACH.

### Can our team take a payment inside Salesforce?

Yes. Receive Payment on an invoice charges a card or bank account through QuickBooks Payments, or records a manual payment such as a check with its reference number. The payment is recorded in QuickBooks and the invoice's balance updates in Salesforce.

### How do recurring invoices work?

Create Recurring Invoice saves a template with a schedule: daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, a start date, and an end (never, after a number of invoices, or on a date). Each invoice can be saved or saved and sent. With Process payments automatically on, the saved payment method is charged as each invoice is created.

## Security and access

### How does Tally connect to QuickBooks?

With QuickBooks' own sign-in (OAuth 2.0). An admin connects the company once, and Tally refreshes the connection on a schedule so it doesn't lapse.

### Can we control who saves, sends or takes payments?

Yes. The package comes with permission sets for each action: saving invoices, saving and sending them, shipping details, payment processing, recurring invoices, and saving or sending estimates and sales receipts. Assign them to the people who need them.

### Can we see what Tally sent to QuickBooks?

Yes. Calls between Tally and QuickBooks are logged in Salesforce as QBO Logs, with the endpoint, QuickBooks' response and the status code. When QuickBooks rejects something, the reason it gave is there.

## Pricing

### How much does Tally cost?

Tally has three yearly plans: Tally Basic at $3,995, Tally Growth at $5,899 and Tally Scale at $7,290 a year. Tally Growth and Tally Scale include installation, and Tally Basic adds a one-time $1,000 installation.
